163回目の正直
アメリカ人作家ディック・ウィマーという方が亡くなったそうです。
すごいのは、下記にあるように、25年もの間、自分の書いた小説が、出版社に断られていたことです。
それでも諦めず、遂に163回目に認められ、出版に至ったそうです。
その後、小説「アイリッシュワイン」は好評を博したそうです。
素晴らしいですね！
ひ、ひゃくろくじゅ～に回断られても、諦めないポジティブさ！
私も数回の挑戦で諦めないようにしないと。
ウィマーさんを見習っていきたいと思います。

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Dick Wimmer, whose first novel “Irish Wine” was finally published after more than 25 years of rejections, has died. He was 74.
His son, Geordie, tells the Los Angeles Times that Wimmer died of heart complications on Wednesday at his home in Agoura Hills, about 20 miles west of Los Angeles.
Wimmer once claimed to be history’s most-rejected published novelist. His book was turned down by publishers and agents 162 times.
“Irish Wine” received good reviews when it was finally published in 1989. Two sequels followed. Wimmer also edited nonfiction sports books and taught creative writing.
